The origins of shortbread are very old ... Its recipe dates from the end of the seventeenth century. The Marquise de Sévigné was very fond of it, and so were we!

It is said that the Marquise de Sablé would have brought to the court of King Louis XIV small dry and round cookies that the King's brother found very convenient ... This is how these small cookies and their names "petit sablés" would have been born in tribute to the Marquise de Sablé.

Since its success has not been denied, the simplicity of the recipe with very few ingredients combined with tasty ingredients and the good turn of the pastry chefs have made it an essential biscuit of French pastry.

Ingredients of shortbread cookies with butter: WHEAT flour (GLUTEN) of Southwestern origin, sugar, whole EGGS, BUTTER (21%), baking powder: sodium acid carbonate, sodium citrate, salt.
