Native to the banks of the Nile, this plant of the Apiaceae family contains small seeds streaked with a few millimeters. Used for millennia, cumin was found in the tombs of the Egyptian pharaohs and served as a currency until the Middle Ages.
Its warm notes immediately evoke Oriental cuisines. Its taste is powerful, slightly pungent, acrid with a touch of bitterness.
